Public Health

The public health service is not only a time waster but is also a joke!

I went to the public clinic today. I was hoping that I could do a complete body check and a detailed blood test. But no! The doctor told me this request is beyond their limits as a public clinic. I also found out that Zrytec or Certizine is not on their medicine list for allergy patients like myself!

To make matter worse, the doctor doesn’t believe what I told him about my medical history. Apparently, without a referral letter my words are worthless! Hello! I lived my life else where before this. I do not have any referral. But I sure know what medical conditions I have, you doofus! Presumably, this is an effective method getting rid of patients at the public clinic. In the end, many patients would have resorted to private health instead of public health.

So, what was the outcome of my visit? According to the doctor who doesn’t trust my words, he could scheduled a basic (Read: Next to nothing) medical test for me just because the reading of my bp is high. Not for the reason that my medical health is in questioned. But guess what? The test is scheduled in April. That is over four months from today! After which, I had to wait till May before I could see him again for my blood test results. I might have been dead by then! Perhaps, I must find other ways to source for funds that will support my private medication.

I have also received a diagnosis on my itchy thingy behind my back. He said that it is an erupted sebaceous cyst. He can’t do anything about it now. The cyst is disturbed (by me) and the cycle will keep coming back until one day it is good enough to be operated. For now, he said there is no worries. Well, this is one good news. Although, it is itchy as hell as we speak.

I didn’t talk to him about my eczema problem. I know he can’t do anything and steroid would only be the prescription. I don’t see the point as the prescription will only ended up in the bin. I will toss it away!

I guess the trip wasn’t a complete lost. I came back with a box of medicine for my bp. For this, I have save a couple of dollars which I could spend it on food or other medication.

April! A long wait ahead…
